- anti-nato and encirclement
- anti-west in general and think of invasion as an attempt to show the capacity to withstand the aggression
- dont accept the way Russian speakers in the eastern Ukraine/Donbas region are treated
everything else is pure propaganda or more non-material reasons. and also gotta say that popular support's been dwindling in russia recently as it becomes clear that this is not going anywhere. also im 100000000000000% percent sure any US president would go to war over American population that somehow ended up in another part of another country and was getting stripped of their voting and labor rights in attempts to benefit another world superpower

this is a good 'overarching narrative' to make the invasion appear just but really its too abstract of a goal that can be interpreted any which way. this is why I think its not a very solid explanation in my eyes. like how americans might fight for 'freedom' or any other higher cause that roughly fits the idea (although of course denazification is based on a real problem)
