They released a position paper which went over points they believe should be emphasized when finding a solution. It was as basic of a guideline anyone could have made. Even Zelensky said he was interested in it

The U.S. went hysterical over it and now with the Xi Moscow trip ended up basically admitting that they don’t want to stop hostilities. First it was “Ukraines choice” but now the US decides what’s “acceptable.”
