Ultimately nonsensical to say an actual political leader who makes decisions is better than a figurehead who had zero power over them

Queen just sat there while British parliament executed policy.

Also it's rich for people to accuse me of a lack of objectivity from me when my predictions (when I actually make them) tend to come correct vs half this thread who initially thought the invasion wouldn't occur or was a US rumour to ostracise Russia, then predicted a Ukrainian wipeout, and a neo nazi taliban style power vacuum to happen

It really is an aggressor and a victim of aggression scenario. I don't see how the invasion of Ukraine is functionally different from a western country invading anywhere on bullshit pretenses save for closer culture and shared history, which doesn't make it less awful

Who said there would be a power vacuum lol? Most just said that arming neo Nazis who train other neo Nazis probably isn't a great idea and will lead to them having a larger and more armed presence in the long term. Even in Afghanistan it didn't backfire until more than a decade later

Also how do I love war when I want it over as fast as possible through a ukrianian victory that will disincentives aggressors everywhere

It would be more accelerationist to do nothing

You think this will disincentivize the US and its allies lol? They're the biggest aggressors of all

Who is the us going to invade next? Really. If it wasn't for this happening, the us is in the midst of turning away from interventionism. Doesnt discount the awful things it has done previously but the political tide shifted away from it.

Aggression isn't limited to a full-on military invasion, you know that. The US is still dropping bombs on tons of countries, waging economic war on multiple countries, supporting countries in their invasions like Saudi Arabia and Israel. The US has plenty of geopolitical adversaries it could invade. Not long ago Joe Biden has said the US will use force to prevent Iran from getting nuclear arms if necessary.

The US has already threatened African countries with aggression for trading with Russia. If anything, this further geopolitical polarization will lead to more US aggression.

The us should absolutely give African countries far greater generosity

    Latin America and Southeast Asia

Besides, why would the US turn away from interventionism in the first place

As long as there is somewhere that isn’t doing exactly what is needed, there is reason to go in and mop up

Ah yes Cambodia and Vietnam, the only countries who exist in Southeast Asia

Not like there aren’t multiple insurgencies in Myanmar and Philippines to pit against the Chinese backed governments mujahideen style

Very beneficial and easy to stoke flames near the border of your enemies by shipping arms, promoting extremism, sending advisors, etc

    Almost like another country

Both governments are backed by the Chinese

And the US used the split between Maoist China and the USSR to play politics against the Soviets back in the 70’s, the Pentagon don’t care about ideology when they can very well get the upper hand here

We’ve funded everything from International Jihadists to genocidal primitivisrs, Maoists are not anything crazy here

Being preferred is not what america wants. It’s hegemony. American dollars in trade, American companies, American policy.

China is a direct counter to that

It's possible but it hasn't happened yet

Meanwhile russia is trying to take over a country. What you're saying would be all too pertinent if this was going on now but as of now, Russian aggression must be stopped
