No way russians gonna use weapons of mass destruction.
Didn't they use chemical weapons in Syria while that would be a so called dealbreaker for other nations (it wasn't)?
Neutrality is a far more reasonable demand than asking for a sovereign state to no longer be able to field a military capable of defending itself, I'm sure yiu agree
I'm just saying what they wanted and why they entered Western Ukraine

They didn't lol
OPCW leaks out now

That's why i'm asking. I remember it being a big thing in media land

Yeah that's the thing with explicitly and publicly stating such "red lines" like Obama did in Syria, basically asking for false flags

Oh wait wasn't it Syria itself (Assad) who used them?
The use of the word Nazi and its consequences have been a disaster for intelligent debate

The red line in this conflict seems to be set on nuclear weapons tho lol

Yeah but idk about other incidents but the 2018 douma attack def seems to be a false flag from what I've read based on leaked OPCW docs and whistleblowers

Yeah but you know Assad formally invited them over and they were fighting ISIL

Blinken did say that if Russia uses chemical weapons NATO and its allies would come with a "very serious response", not specifying in what that would be

Think that distinction in general is kinda weird to make. So you can kill civilians as long as it is with conventional weapons basically lol?
On this war: A NATO response can only be military. So they either involve themselves or send the big guns to Ukraine instead of old material

BIG PUTIN gotta start recruiting heavy soon

Yeah I mean the use of chemical weapons is a war crime in any scenario so there's that, but targeting civilians is too. So it's weird to only focus on that, it's basically giving the side they're supporting a route to getting more support from NATO with a chemical false flag attack.
So even though I won't make any definitive conclusions, I'm definitely not surprised Azov reporting chemical attacks now after Blinken said that, I was kind of expecting it tbh
chemical weapons are absolutely not a red line this time around.
i think the only red line would be nuclear weapon

'and even then'
Seeing liberals start feigning caring about white phosphorous even tho Israel uses it on an annual basis on Palestinians is gonna be hilarious
Also why on earth would you trust anything f***ing Azov has to say lol

didn't Israel stop in 2013-14 or so? not that that makes it better but iirc they actually got called out internally for that in the early 2010s because it hit civilians and the media actually covered it so they stopped. Not that that makes it better . Pretty sure the US used white phosphorous in afghanistan too
and yet we're still gonna shout from the rooftops how this is crossing some redline

Hmm yeah it’s seems you might be right, Altho there was a lot of accusations that they were using them again last year

speaking of israel, i've been kinda surprised i haven't seen more scrutiny or general discourse of israel's position on this situation. although in the UN they voted to condemn russia alongside the US, their actual policy hasn't reflected this. In fact honestly other than this single vote, Israel's policy and talking points on the situation have been almost identical to China. Pretty sure the Israeli PM met with Russia before they met with Ukraine too. Probably want to make sure they can keep getting permission from Russia to steal Syrian land

I’ve noticed that too. It’s interesting the US has been strong arming random third world countries that don’t have a ton of stake in this to show more support for Ukraine, but the same isn’t being applied to Israel

To be fair the US follows regional Israeli policy more than Israel follows US regional policy, so while there's a "strong" alliance between US & Israel, it's not necessarily over the same goals as much as semi-mutual benefit. Israel isn't exclusive to the US despite popular belief, they have incredibly good ties with virtually all major power blocs including Russia & China. US can't really push Israel around in the same way they can random third world countries because the US actually needs Israel on its side for its ME policy to work. Israel has always cooperated with other regional powers besides the US though, like I mentioned there's some bizarre Israel-Russia alliance in parts of Syria despite Russia being allied with Assad and Assad hating Israel. That said though, did you know that in the Obama era, Syria actually was negotiating the recognition of Israel and bilateral relations, until the Syrian Civil War broke out?
puts in perspective why the US was funding what groups
I wonder why they would want to join
