Not weird at all, the holy city of Mecca is there. Think about it, a cartoon of a prophet was drawn, and Muslims were flipping cars in European cities. Imagine their “Vatican” being invaded.

The KSA is also an ally of the U.S & it’s other militarily strong democratic allies in the region (India, Pakistan, Egypt, etc).

Plus, it’s very rich and it’s government is a kingdom. Not easy to destabilize.

@Beast_Man Plus, invading KSA would lead to nuclear war, easily. Pakistan would have no choice but to defend the holiest site of Islam (Islam being the ONLY reason Pakistan exists), and in order to protect Mecca, no doubts nukes would fly. The US would nuke them back, and then India would get involved (because they’ve got a Pakistan sized chip on their right shoulder), and then China would have to get involved because India got involved (China has been cited as saying that “Pakistan is their Israel”, oddly enough).

And lucky us. They’ve all got nukes.
