If anything these rising tensions with Russia will give Western countries another pretext for aggression in the Global South against countries who usually already have warmer relations with Russia For most of the world the Cold War wasn't exactly "cold", but just one very hot proxy war after another.

And I also fear that this conflict will increase racism in Europe especially too, even aside from how far-right groups like Azov who want to spread their ideology will benefit from this war, the disproportionate amount of support for Ukrainians vs when it's being done to our countries of origin is souring a lot of people from an immigrant background here.

^ this is the prevailing attitude among a very wide majority of us honestly, even regardless of their politics mostly. And as you can see by reactions to that attitude itt, this is often seen as "pro-Russian" in some way. And in the same way that accusing minorities of being communists has become a thing because of the first Cold War, especially in the US.
