The gif is a good sign lol. Realistically what he more than likely meant was he has been clearing songs and none of the songs he’s dropping have been what he heard. So he’s putting together whats going on. Album time

this is what the kbots don’t understand about the Drake lines about awards from these beef songs and about how Drake fans generally view Kendrick, his music and this Anthony Fantano, Pitchfork, Obama-core, critic award-bait culture:

Drake isn’t jealous that Kendrick wins awards and is a critics darling. when he brings that up he is making fun of him (and we enjoy it) because to Drake, and to us, those accolades (pulitzer, grammy’s, pitchfork reviews) are evidence that Kendrick’s music is the contrived, try-hard, fake woke, fake deep award-bait that we feel like it is when we listen to it.

that it is primarily made for critics, wanna-be deep thinkers and theorists. the pontificating academic types who are in a stage of psycho-spiritual development that compels them to signal their virtue - their intelligence and superiority - by praising this fake woke, fake deep music that represents the upper limit of their understanding.

in order for the status game to work they must not only champion this type of art as the pinnacle of artistic achievement but they must also s*** on the popular music that is actually the soundtrack to peoples lives, in this case Drake, so they can pat themselves on the back for being superior to everyone who likes “fast food music”

ironically, Drake is much more profound than Kendrick but it’s too simple for them to understand

“we don’t do this for awards that s*** look forced”

tl,dr: drake is the rap games lao tzu and kendrick is for people who like to appear woke and deep
