Instead of clapping back with something mediocre he took his time, 2 years which is a reasonable development time for an album especially one that you want to be good creatively, rap wise production wise mix wise etc, and now he getting his s*** off. Burnout isn’t just associated with genre though it could be applied to anything

For example I can say I’m burned out with hearing Pusha rap about Coke every album but that shouldn’t be able to fly as a valid criticism of the music. If he is rapping well and the production is good and everything comes together nicely he deserves credit for his work no matter how “burned out” someone decides they feel like being. If you are burned out that means you are checked out in my book which also means your opinion doesn’t count because the conversation is no longer about quality it’s about your personal bandwidth

Same applies to Morale that’s actually a great example, not “feeling like hearing” something isn’t a valid criticism. Was the music executed well or not? End of story. If it was great that’s a good album, regardless of what this or that person has patience or attention span for

Aside from someone simply not loving the music at face value

There are plenty of people that aren’t biased against Drake that simply don’t care for his cosplaying as a tough guy. Hip hop is based on authenticity, or at least is was historically. He’s still talking about being in the mob and gang signs and punching people in the face on here.

His lyrics can also just be cringe sometimes and I’ve heard plenty of people say they can’t listen to j Cole for that same reason. He’s saying asap rocky has relationship probs cause his wife doesn’t post in support of him. Cringe(sounds good and is catchy tho)

I love the music on iceman but if you know anything about Drake as a person there is some cognitive dissonance necessary if you’re listening to every lyric.

You right if you don’t pay attention to the lyrics tho, all this s*** sounds great. It just doesn’t hold up when you look at it closely
