rediosi think the payoff is from him coming back when the industry did everything to take him out. the idea that drake hasn't been rapping much in the 2020s is overblown and not an opinion held by the gp. he releases so many rap songs when you actually count it. it's just that it often comes with rnb and pop songs as well. trust, if drake wasn't trying to get out of his deal with umg, we wouldn't get Iceman as it is. It would be a double disk like scorpion or mixed rapping with singing like clb

I see what you mean but I already moved on from the "drake needs to rap on the whole album for it to be a classic" mindset tbh. cuz by that logic take care, scorpion and views wouldn't be considered classics and that's just ridiculous. I also do appreciate it being fully rap because that means i can play it in one seating like nwts. we should enjoy it cuz I promise you this is never happening again once he leaves umg

It doesn’t need to happen again and you missing the point of what I’m saying I’m not saying this was the ONLY way he could deliver a classic I’m saying this is the kind of classic that a large portion of the fandom has been waiting for. Take Care type classic is still valid.
