I can definitely admit that Kendrick won. But this whole attack on Drake was to ruin him/seriously damage his career and that's where there wasn't any success.

I guess this is my main disagreement. I don't see how we can just erase all the context and steps that led up to this.
I also don't understand how Drake extending his hand matters at all? Clearly Kendrick was still pissed about something, so if anything that makes Drake look worse that he basically tried to get a guy on his album that he wasn't even really cool with just for the "big rap moment".

nah i dont want to erase all the steps but you have to look at the context,
regardless of why, this was the time kendrick wanted to start the beef for real, so why not drop his own song? why hop on an album thats purpose was to diss drake? hes not stupid man he knew what he was doing with that
to your second point, i think it makes drake look better tbh and clearly shows he likely had no bad feelings towards kendrick, maybe he took kendricks "hate" more as a competitive thing not genuine hate (we know historically drake has shown a more "forgiving" type of personality, maybe bordering on being a bit naive)

Considering they have been the three biggest faces of the genre for about a decade and are all nearing retirement you have to admit that it counts for some thing and absolutely would’ve been an historic moment. First person shooter with just Cole was a moment for rap having all three on a track together WOULDVE been special.

I don't understand why y'all are trying to force that moment onto Kendrick if he don't f*** with Drake though. Like if he didn't want to be on the song that is totally his choice. Does it suck for us fans? Absolutely. But clearly they had some issues prior to the beef so who the hell am I to tell Kendrick to suck it up and get on a Drake album.
