And that's the point, exactly. They could have had this beef at any point from 2013 till now. Kendrick waited till he dropped an album that underperformed and it started to seem like he was being lapped by both Drake and Cole (Drake with his never-ending dominance and Cole with his feature-run that started in 2018). That's why he got so bitter after First Person Shooter dropped (a song where he was given props btw). The two niggas his name is always in conversation with were thoroughly outworking him and the rap game was acknowledging that and Kendrick hated it.

All people are saying is that it isn't a coincidence that Kendrick WAITED (First Person Shooter dropped in October, Like That dropped 6 whole months later) to go at Drake and just so happened to do so on an album that was about niggas hating Drake/going at him lol.

He obviously dissed Drake by himself but that doesn't change the fact that Drake had several rappers coming at him at the same time. The part people don't respect is why Kendrick waited till it was multiple niggas going at Drake for him to finally decide "yeah, now is the time for us to have that beef." Because the narrative if Drake had declined would have been "he's scared of the Boogeyman." And also, if he had ignored everyone else, people would have complained about that as well lol.

I don't think anyone is denying that Kendrick is a successful mainstream artist in his own right but I will bet money that he wasn't impressed with how his last album + every feature he dropped after it performed/was received culturally. That's also why he rushed to go at Drake finally. He knew that beef was the only thing that'd spark enough excitement around his own name because the culture was more than fine with Cole and Drake doing their thing. The person whose name had zero motion before the beef was Kendrick.

Compared to other artists who I have seen perform, namely Kanye West and Travis Scott. Yes, Drake is subpar live performer. Very basic shows, which is fine. Because like I said, I have seen him multiple times. Why does me spending my money to see an artist I like bother you. I put $$$$ into 2K every year, don't mean the game ain't s***.
