I don’t understand how the same people who like TPAB don’t like Morale in its themes. Morale is much more aware of what it’s trying to be than TPAB, like a hiphop bible or something
Hearing about shallow themes of him cheating on his wife (while still dragging things on and being engaged to her for a decade and continuing to add kids to the situation creating potential trauma to your own kids), trying to block yourself of criticism by calling yourself a hypocrite (yet still playing morally superior later on), trying to pat himself on the back for acknowledging a trans family member (with one of the corniest hooks ever), and so on.
You have to suspend belief when listening to his album, buy into the character he tries to play for the album and ignore his constant contradictions outside of his album universe for who he is in real life.
Too hard for me to suspend belief to buy into all of the forced themes.

I do think it’s super annoying how Kendrick decides to be extremely selective about what he speaks out about instead of being as honest as he used to be, even if not a lot of people agree. I’d love more honesty from dude but I get that I’m not owed anything I want from a celebrity
