ITS ICEMAN SZN
this s*** like the bag that you bring on the plane...
its gonna carry on
Some how some of y’all have already listened to 3 albums enough to have a take on them. I didn’t think I could really take Drake seriously after the beef.. I wanted to but idk.. his s*** seemed hollow and I still don’t like the tracks like where he tries to catch that “non stop” type wave and sound
But he is for the most part. Really rapping.. over some of the best real hip hop production hes rapped over on a decade.
Some of this production is truly amazing.. he might have some corny lines here and there but
Iceman might be the best solo drake album since IYRTITL and I appreciate the sound of it more than that
Still some tracks that are just so goofy.. like dog youre 40 years old.
Now I can’t speak on the other two
make them cry was off putting cuz I thought we might actually get a really mature drake on this whole thing
He was maybe mature for 1/2 of make them cry there was no reason to think thatd continue thru the album when he couldnt even make it thru 1 song
i like 2 songs on this not even gonna bother listening to the other two if the main one is this bad
no bullshit tho, despite being tired of that flow, make them cry is easily one of drake's best rapping performances
the writing is clever and vulnerable and smooth
it honestly feels more like a timestamp than 1am
after playing a few songs from ICEMAN, i think i was right
H - Her Loss
M - Honestly, Nevermind
I - Certified Lover Boy
Iceman is high energy full rap tape, habibti is late night crooning drake the r&b tape that everyone has always wanted, MOH is hnvm pt2
Bro he always does this sing song ass flow and abc 123 ass raps over them beats man
Im tired man. There’s been like 10 of these on his albums since scorpion

the vibes of each project
ik Habibti is more R&B but his vocals are mixed same way as Her Loss
You mean regarding topics? Cuz I feel like Iceman is very similar to Her Loss
Tbh weekly release would have been better, I won't be listening to the others until next week properly anyways. Can't take in 41 tracks properly all at once.
It’s effectively a 2 and a half hour album, I listen to a Drake 90 minute album over maybe 2 sessions (commute, doing s***, whatever) but to get through 150 minutes is a bit ridiculous it’s like a commitment , you gotta force urself to do it even if I like the album
I was excited about the Cole album but I couldn’t even get through it once cause it was so long
Genius move, and not even for the obvious reasons.
Drake and Kendrick both had deals with UMG, and UMG heavily promoted “Not like us”, which hurt drake’s credibility with false claims. They intentionally tried to hurt drake’s image so they could weaken his contract renegotiations if they ended up having them, which is why Drake is suing them.
Umg obviously has been with Drake now due to being sued, so they hardly promoted iceman at all. All of iceman’s promotion was directly through Drake and OVO with no major promotion from UMG.
This is important, because if Drake somehow manages to land 3 albums in the top 5 in Debut and get a crazy amount a sales on top of critical acclaim, then it proves Drake doesn’t need the machine or it’s support to succeed or to even thrive.
This is invaluable when it comes to potentially signing another deal. This could potentially secure him like a LeBron-Nike type deal from like Apple or someone adjacent. He could even just choose to stay independent, since he clearly doesn’t even need the machine at this point and keep all that profit for himself.
Genius move and proves that he is one of the most important artists of all time. Imagine if he secure the top 3 album spots on debut. He would be the first artist in history to not just debut in the top 3 spots, but to ever have the top 3 spots simultaneously.
He is also set to potentially have 11 albums in the top 200 by next week with these latest 3 albums, since he currently has 8 already right now. He will pass Taylor swift (who had 10 albums in top 200 at one time), and will only trail David Bowie who had 17 at once. Legendary
He should announce his final album in 2 years and instigate a bidding war for it. The 11 track opus prod exclusively by 40 reflecting on his career. Imagine the bag he would get.
Or just do it independent doesn't matter he's proved he doesn't need the machine like you said

You like the song song flow and abc 123 raps? It’s cool sometimes but it’s like the whole album

Its definitely not like one big album tho lol

should just do it himself and release physicals only with a qr code for your phone if you that's how you listen to music
would do 10 million
Anyone calling Iceman low energy just hearing what they wanna hear
It is frustrating to see so called music fans not be able to seperate the music from weird personal feelings and biases.
Goes both ways tbh iceman is not very impressive or interesting, actually more concerning than anything
speaking my truth: Janice STFU is my favorite song on Iceman
replaying it for the second time. this s*** is crack. also, this is a reference to Janice from Sopranos, right?
i’m currently doing a rewatch. what crazy timing
You mean regarding topics? Cuz I feel like Iceman is very similar to Her Loss
nah just overall vibes
Iceman production so far has been very upbeat like CLB
