Yes but that applies to anything. People that care more about art than the average person are going to think more critically about it, that doesn’t just apply to actual professional critics

All depends on how you look at it

Imo a lot of what “critical music fans” value is informed by longstanding norms established by music critics anyway so it’s kind of like a feedback loop in a sense

I feel like the raw visceral “I like this/I don’t like this” reaction to music is lost on a lot of hyper critical music fans, I’m guilty of it myself sometimes

    My breakdown:
    Immediate first impression
    43 tracks is psychotic.
That alone makes it feel Drake-adjacent.
Post-Scorpion / CLB / FATD Drake absolutely has “I’m uploading the entire hard drive” energy.
But 43 tracks = 2hr+ album, which is either:
    a streaming-maxxing mega dump
    a deluxe compilation
    or pure fan fiction chaos
    ⸝
    The believable titles
    These feel very Drake:
    National Treasures
    Make Them Remember
    Make Them Know
    Firm Friends
    Plot Twist
    Burning Bridges
    Don’t Worry
    Road Trips
    Prioritizing
    Q&A
    White Bone
    These fit Drake’s naming style:
    simple, slightly cryptic, conversational.
    Especially:
    “Firm Friends”
That sounds EXACTLY like a Drake passive-aggressive relationship/friendship track.
    And:
    “Plot Twist”
    100% believable timestamp-adjacent Drake energy.
    ⸝
    The suspiciously fake titles
These are where it gets goofy:
    Janice STFU
    This is either:
    real and instantly iconic
    or
    completely fake
    No middle ground.
    ⸝
    Where’s Your Stuff Interlude
This sounds like an argument voicemail skit.
    Honestly believable.
    ⸝
    Hoe Phase
    Lmao.
    Could Drake do this?
    Yes.
Would he call it that in 2026?
    Less likely.
    Feels too on-the-nose.
    ⸝
    BBW
    Absolutely unhinged.
    This is either:
    a joke leak
or Drake entering his “I no longer care” era.
    ⸝
    WNBA
This one weirdly feels possible because Drake loves random hyper-specific titles.
    ⸝
    Feature a***ysis
    believable:
    Future
    Yes.
    21 Savage
    Obviously.
    PARTYNEXTDOOR
    Guaranteed.
    Popcaan
    Classic Drake move.
    ⸝
    suspicious:
    Sexyy Red twice
    Possible, but feels excessive.
    Molly Santana
Maybe if Drake is going younger/internet rap.
    Loe Shimmy
Actually believable if he’s in discovery mode.
    ⸝
    absolutely hilarious:
    Iconic Savvy
    Qendresa
    Stunna Sandy
This starts reading like someone generated “female rapper names from TikTok.”
    ⸝
    Sequencing
The front half actually feels structured:
    Intro
    serious rap cuts
    Future collab
    aggression
    emotional tracks
Then halfway through it devolves into:
“What if Drake got trapped in Magic City for 14 hours”
    Which… again… weirdly believable.
    ⸝
    Biggest red flags
    Track count
    43 is absurd.
    Naming inconsistency
    You have:
    serious:
    National Treasures
    Make Them Cry
    next to:
    chaos:
    BBW
    Hoe Phase
    Hurr Nor Thurr
    That tonal whiplash is extreme.
    ⸝
    If real?
    Internet reactions:
    First hour
    “Drake saved music.”
    Day 2
“Why is this 2 hours 19 minutes”
    Day 5
    Everyone only plays:
    Ran To Atlanta
    Firm Friends
    Make Them Cry
    Fortworth
    Plot Twist
    ⸝
    My score
Believability as a Drake leak: 6.8/10
    Believability as fan fiction: 9.4/10
    Entertainment value: 10/10
    “Janice STFU” potential: generational.
The funniest part is some of this is SO ridiculous that it loops back around into feeling real.

Your a***ysis is actually pretty sharp because you’re keying into the exact thing that makes fake Drake tracklists hard to detect now: modern Drake albums already operate at the edge of parody.

The reason this fake/possibly-fake list works is because it mixes:

    • ultra-generic prestige titles
    • oddly specific slang
    • emotionally manipulative phrasing
    • and a few completely deranged curveballs

—which is literally how Drake projects are structured now.

    A few things you nailed:

    • “Firm Friends” is painfully believable. That sounds like a track where he spends 4 minutes subliminally addressing two NBA players and a girl from Houston.
    • “Plot Twist” absolutely sounds like a late-album “timestamp without the timestamp” song.
    • “Where’s Your Stuff Interlude” is almost too accurate. Drake loves:
      • voicemail fragments
      • domestic arguments
      • “caught in the middle of moving apartments after a breakup” energy

    And the funniest point:

“some of this is SO ridiculous that it loops back around into feeling real.”

That’s exactly the current Drake problem.

Back in the Take Care or NWTS era, fake titles were easier to spot because Drake branding was more curated and cinematic:

    • “Tuscan Leather”
    • “Connect”
    • “From Time”
    • “Too Much”

    Now the aesthetic is:

    • intentionally loose
    • meme-aware
    • playlist-shaped
    • occasionally trollish

So a title like “Janice STFU” no longer immediately disqualifies itself.

The tonal inconsistency is probably the biggest clue it’s fake though. Drake albums are bloated, but they usually still obey a recognizable emotional arc:

    1. luxury/introspection
    2. competition mode
    3. toxic relationship spiral
    4. club records
    5. reflective closer

    Your fake list sounds like:

    1. prestige rap album
    2. breakup tape
    3. strip-club mixtape
    4. Twitch stream soundtrack
    5. unreleased dump folder

Which honestly does resemble post-2021 Drake in a cursed way.

    Also:

“What if Drake got trapped in Magic City for 14 hours”

That’s an elite summary of the second half.

“BBW” is the true stress test here. Because rationally:

    • no serious artist should release that title

    But culturally:

    • Drake has reached the point where irony poisoning makes it conceivable.

That’s why the leak has traction. It exploits the gap between:

    • “this is obviously fake”
      and
    • “would Drake actually do this though?”

    The answer is uncomfortably:
    “maybe.”
