I think a lot of people expected Drake to deliver a more upbeat and direct diss with The Heart Part 6, which is why it ended up being underrated. Fans were anticipating something more confrontational, especially considering the tension between Drake and Kendrick. If Drake had dropped it right after Taylor Made, when the energy was high, it might have landed better with the public.

It’s not that we needed a full-on diss track, but some sharp, direct shots aimed at Kendrick or any other rivals would have been enough to make a strong impact. Social media has been disrespecting the boy way too much lately, and a few well-placed bars could have shut down a lot of the criticism.

The introspective and reflective tone of THP6 might not have been what the rap community needed at that moment, especially in a climate where people are looking for direct confrontation. THP6 was still a good track. However, in terms of public reception, we needed and still need something more aggressive. Look at how much love It’s Up received, we needed that type of tone.
