    I can respect that honestly

He was way oversaturated for FATD. Dropping an album while currently on a massive tour isn’t a smart idea.

The hype and rollout for this album feels more similar to CLB

  • shaleirose

Honestly with all factors at play, he might just level back out at 400K

    That’s what I’m thinking

Which because this thread is pushing 600k so hard

I will be counting 400k as a huge flop and declaring iceman dead on arrival

  • May 6

@iHype what do u think about how the new streaming rules will affect iceman’s numbers?

I think the album will sell well but will be a underwhelming collection of 20-22 songs that will try to appeal to as many fans as possible

Sounds reasonable to me. Low-mid 400s would be my guess

I thought it was paid streams only?

Ad-supported streams are 33% less required

Paid streams are 20% less required

But this update was slightly offset by YouTube not counting anymore a few weeks after the streaming boost kicked in

I see the play crodie I back it

Rather slightly underestimate/be realistic about something than overestimate and be underwhelmed when it doesn’t reach it

When has 2 year pre orders ever counted tho?

rule only came into effect the tracking week of Bully iirc. it was that + a harsher look at independent sales direct to consumer… all hurting pre sales done through YZY.com

if you look to the partnership of majors with EVEN you can see how the industry is just looking to delegitimize independent artists and their success as much as possible

Fair, but with CLB we saw the demand and thirst for new Drake music with Scary Hours 2 that same year. None of the music he's dropped within the past year has reached that same kind of commercial frenzy

That’s cool and all but the signed vinyls were a fluke anyways, my vinyl also came all scratched up, so it was sloppy as s*** regardless, can’t blame everything on the illuminati

Also as I said earlier I don’t expect this album to be 20+ tracks. If it is then I’d update my prediction accordingly

  • I laugh at anyone worried about lack of promo, its Drake may 15th everyone stopping what they are doing and listening.

I think it's gonna be either a short 14-15 or a long 30+, I don't see it being anything in between

I didn’t say it would be higher than CLB though

  • If it's 30+ songs, it'll definitely clear 400K with ease
