That album dropped while I was on vacation in Cancun with the boys and it became the soundtrack to that entire trip. The vibes were immaculate and lined up perfectly. I got a personal connection with that album that still stays with me today.

)Funny you mention that. One of my boys got COVID on the last night of our trip. So on our flight back home we all got upgraded to business class with our own personal seats so we could “social distance” and isolate. Crazy how s*** can play out.

But after 2024, even though a lot of casual listeners kept listening to him, some of them started thinking, ‘Is he starting to fade a little? Is he not untouchable anymore? Is he past his prime?’ Drake wants to break that perception.
The purpose of Iceman is to say: ‘I’m still a giant in this industry, I still have hits, and I still make good music.
And again, if that's what he wants to do, that's fine, it's his album and I'm generally of the opinion that artists make their best work when they just focus on what they feel inspired to do.
I'm just saying he's not going to be changing any narratives or opinions, even among casual listeners. Even among his haters, the narrative for almost everyone (everyone reasonable, that is), is basically "Drake needs to just go back and make hits like he's always done". People are really overestimating the impact the beef has had on casual listeners. If he is making Views 2.0, he is just doing what every casual listener expects him to do
