shaleiroseNo, for one the nature of fame is entirely different nowadays than it was 40 years ago. Secondly, the music industry is entirely different nowadays. The Life of a Showgirl has the highest first week sales total of all-time, yet nobody outside of Taylor’s immediate fanbase could name a song off that album. Meanwhile, damn near every song on Thriller is ubiquitous

people know just as many taylor songs as they know MJ songs. and I can also tell you are severely undervaluing the asian population
taylor is by far the biggest western artist since MJ in asia. In china I would say she's even bigger
