I think it was a combination of both. Drake even said as much that “he had the song for four years” I mean you’d think if anything Drake had an upper hand but unfortunately I think he went too much in the opposite direction than how he handled the Pusha beef. Honestly if he applied the “I’m more popular you’re a joke” to push and took Kendrick serious à la duppy freestyle both prob would’ve worked better in his favor
