idk man you putting in a lot of work to put a positive spin on the bullshit he's saying. guy just said that he's capping when calling himself the best, a lot of his raps are fiction, and that's putting on a cape. that literally ruins so much of his songs in my library of him being the greatest or killing rappers. he has totally lost his mind

I’m trying to imagine what the reaction would be if any other elite MC who spent a decade saying he’s the best & nobody can f*** with him, got on a microphone & said he actually doesn’t feel that way at all.

And that’s cool bruh like I said I don’t think the criticism is unfounded. I just feel like that’s generally braggadocio that is a part of rap and what he said isn’t something that discredits him as a rapper to me. It’s no different to me than dudes rapping about moving weight or killing people like he’s just being candid about it. Realistically people felt that way after he pulled out the beef (which again is totally fair) so I’m like who cares really he’s still a really good rapper and his explanation about what he said isn’t really that crazy when you listen to all of it

I love Cole but he kinda begged this big 3 thing from the start. Drake never mentioned being in a big 3 before because (well he’s Drake) he just refers to himself being number uno or on top of the game for the last decade plus. Kendrick never did that s*** either he was fully focused on being number one. These two never had ambitions or were setting their sites in being a top 3 rapper.

Cole repeatedly mentioned the other 2 throughout his music grouping himself in as to create the illusion of a gap between him and his other peers in the rap game. People kinda accepted it and then he was happy to take his lil no 3 spot and remind everyone he was part of this little exclusive club any chance he got. Which kinda ironically led to all the mess that spilled over in the last couple of years.
