like that was the entry point. then dot signs a short term contract (hit) 3 days before euphoria. im suprised you guys cant see how calculated this was lol

Because most of us were there when all the songs dropped, and seen the immediate reactions, you cant put that in contracts, kendrick was the winner before any media personality or streams came out, people liked the music more

    The end

the biggest rapper of all time grows too large for the major label system.... they either gotta contain him or let him go. you think 100 gigs was supposed to go on streaming?

Drake isn’t even the biggest artist on UMG

  • Drake went from d***sucking his label to being made fun of by it, what a story

hes been knowing nothing about the rollout. I have told yall time and time again. hes hiding that behind this shtick of "im trying to experience it like a fan"

in reality he knows no date or anything, and larped trying to leak "iceman" snippets that were not even from ICEMAN. so corny

Makes sense. Don't know why Drake talks to him then.

You keep acting like you have info, we getting something in April or what?

You can chalk that up to coincidence.

You’re right that it was calculated. But it was calculated by metro because he felt Drake disrespected his mother. We have proof of this via the thug jail calls. It wasn’t calculated by any label.

metro and future s*** was not deep enough to the point they were gonna call him a pdf lol. metro felt disrespected cause of the urgency drake was coming at him w for Trance. Future was mad at him for stealing a groupie and not dropping WATTBA2.

dot and UMG both gained massively by defaming his charachter. Hitman tries to kill the king to take the (pop culture) throne. and the people pulling strings now get to pay the new king way less? and the old one wayyyyyy less

this is pure business. you think dot has such a moral visceral response to having co-writers or taking flows? look at him w keem or his stealing all over GNX.

just trying to illustrate how this wasn't some moral battle on some star wars s***. it was about $ and power

That was more of a victory lap that sealed the deal, most people had kendrick winning after he stepped on FM, a good drake response couldve evened it up after MTG, but we never got one

This lyric is about Diddy slapping him over the 0-100 beat btw

It was about Drake thinking the industry conspired against him and sent Meek to get him out the paint

Yes thats the one, you or other drake stans disliking it doesnt mean it wasnt generational for literally everyone else, that night will always be known as the night MTG stepped on FM and stopped the world

literally the most forgotten record in the entire battle. standouts were clearly 616, Euphoria, and the public reception to NLU. after 1 week of him not being able to prove he had a made up daughter it lost all relevance

    RAPPER.

I don’t think the genre is really relevant. The point is they’ll be fine without him. Ofc they’d love to have him but no artist is bigger than the program.

And as I’ve said before there are more effective ways of devaluing him than a rap battle that he could’ve easily won or just not have participated in

People literally listen to MTG more than FM tho?

So Kendrick had one week to prove the daugther

but Drake didnt have one week to prove any of his claims?

You dont thnk thats funny? it was just a battle, not a court house, nobody has to prove s***, whichever songs hit harder, wins

This interview is why I’m not mad the battle happened. So many people who had cultural cache jumped out the window when they thought this was the moment to take Drake down and now they all look like clowns. It’s now so much easier to know who’s part of the industry club

the only way they could do that would to take him off of playlisting which everyone would notice as odd... seeing as hes the biggest rapper

you cant just set up an anti bot farm lol
