Nah man you sure don’t.
Surprise sometimes we dont want to listen a whole album for one track we like
I know Jim Halpert got the nastiest 6 disc changer in his whip
streaming is definitely anti-art
having a buffet to choose from disconnected the appreciation of art as you can just keep clicking to the next one until you find something you like. binging killed the anticipation of what’s coming next, etc. Like I can’t believe we still discussing this in 2026 when artists make .0003 cents
Beautiful a***ogy.
I ain’t even trying to hate on physical media. I got a lot of vinyls and a nice setup because it looks cool and women like it. A pretty decent collection of 4k blu rays too because the image and audio quality is a significant improvement over streaming.
It’s just that doing it over some weird sense of “ownership” has always been odd to me. Realistically you don’t own anything that can be destroyed in a house fire, something that’s much more likely to happen than the streaming industry suddenly collapsing.
Again I mainly use an iPod.
CDs for car. Have fun with your lifetime monthly fee to rent music though.

Everyone already basically treats physical media like funko pops but won’t admit it
No he’s stupid for thinking everyone wants to live like a cavemen in a digital era. Streaming exist as a direct response to piracy which is exactly what would happen if you went back to a physical model
he’s stupid for recognizing the effects technology has had on our society and recommending people alternative ways to not be locked into the system and support artists directly? holy s*** man…you niggas are so f***ing cooked
Art is meant to be experienced. Consuming something is inherently experiencing it. Not sure how you can argue that they are somehow mutually exclusive lol.
The method it’s consumed now is like fast food, the experience has greatly diminished
2/3 of those things are basically archaic, I love collecting media but you’re insane if you think I’m putting in a DVD instead of booting up Netflix. Or going to a gamestop instead of just buying it on the digital store
Netflix holy S***
Man nothing like going to that game store on release day
I don’t mind going places tho.

Consume it however you want to consume
If you still buy CDs it’s time to look into retirement options

The only medium where physical is still a thing is books. Gaming kind of.

I don’t either. But what I want is the game. No reason to add a 15 minute drive to that if I don’t need to
