No because music is an over saturated market and streaming has benefits for artist but also down sides. One of the downsides being competing in a very cheap and equal market. Physicals are sales but aren’t at all indicative of how the general population is engaging with your music(again see second week sales)

    Streaming is like 90% downsides

Any major label artist is getting paid off their deal and advances rather than streams. It’s the labels job to make money off the streams

    Again, therein lies the problem

Streaming is the word thing to ever happen to artists

To some of them sure? But it gave a lot of people access to an audience in a really unprecedented way and is the most viable alternative to piracy. Everybody hates streaming but nobody wants to use a Walkman

The literal only benefit to streaming is that you can discover all the music in the world for one low price. Everything else is negative.

Sales culture, artists not getting paid, albums getting devalued, oversaturation, playlisting, algorithms, etc. etc. etc.

How is that working for these hypothetical people

Everybody wants to use an iPod.

Yes because they’re getting hundreds of millions to billions of streams. That’s the top 5%. Majority of artists aren’t getting streamed anywhere near that on a regular basis

Greatly lowered barriers to entry in the market and increased discovery via play listing are the main benefits which mainly benefit newer and aspiring artist and not incumbents but there are lots of downsides for them too
