why does no one ever talk about 100 Gigs anymore??
because it was only up for a limited time. its actually insane they didnt keep it up. as a creative i had the best time ever going through that tbh

i imagine the server costs were insane
you pride yourself on not paying attention to any other artist except drake, of course you think every other artist’s album release is centered on drake if you purposefully tune out everything else about it
You lack reading comprehension if that's what you got from my post.

your post was “people use drake for album promo but once the drake discussion ends everyone forgets about their album”
my post said “of course you think this because you don’t even care about anyone else’s album unless drake’s name is attached to it”
i imagine the server costs were insane
Yeah I bet you’re right lol
100gigs felt like a very nuanced drop that had a target audience. I can’t even imagine your average Drake fan went to 100gigs.org, downloaded a song, and downloaded 100+ gigs of old footage. They just waited for tiktokers and YouTubers to post the highlights from the sessions.

Correct. That is how most people consume content now these days. You wait for it to get chopped up & served to you in digestible clips. I’ve said this before, but only the top 1% of Drake fans are tapped into every move. If the rest don’t see it on Twitter or TikTok, they miss it.
Who is they? If a black person posted that same tweet would it make it more true?
Not sure where you assumed I was insinuating race in my sentence.
I was referring to the all the different people online you'd see deciding Drake wasn't part of the culture/hip hop but decided people who've never contributed to it, or nowhere near as much have more weight with their opinions of him and his music.

Nah bro we're all supposed to be talking about almost 100 behind the scenes clips and a free EP a year and a half later or it came and went. My Grandma and coworkers ain't said a word about the clip of Drake listening to the #23 Noel Mix of Know Yourself in 7 months. S*** flopped harder than Watch the Party Die and Port Antonio 100%
On the real tho 100 Gigs was a moment fr. The Drake documentaries in the future are going to be so hard if that was just a testing the waters thing. No Face and Circadian Rhythm would be stand out tracks on any Drake album. Those have never left my playlist

Sounds like a very niche online problem man, “they” have no power to allow or not allow some random person to tweet an opinion

You’re comparing two standalone songs to decades of material, that alone should tell you something brother, didn’t hit like it was supposed to unfortunately

even 1% is an overestimate
being in this thread alone puts you in the 1%

all i know is people use the phrase “Scary Hours” to this day
don’t see anyone in here saying things like “for your head top” anymore
only real memes are gonna last
all that other bullshit is here today and gone tomAAAAAOOOOORRRRRRR
They making up excuses for the 100gigs flop. Almost all them songs on streaming and nobody cared

also it was clear they didnt because everyone tried to act like he dropped a 100gigs of songs there was like 3 tracks and mad heavy video files. my favorite portion was the whole thing about the virgil jet design
It did. Unfortunately.
Seeing Drake cook in the studio was a privilege fr. S*** felt like we was really there, and it's not always some big Einstein moment either (he probably saving that footage for the big one) most nights it's him putting the puzzle together piece by piece, day by day week to week or month to month. Most artists try to sell the story of making a big hit in 10 seconds but real inspirational stories to me were stuff like the 100 Gigs footage
I remember the vibe in the community shifted at the time so it absolutely hit and did what it was supposed to do. Very smart move at the time when you think about it. And the EP is a classic
We need another rapper to upload a whole song for free and track how it performs. I need yall to see something
And side note It's Up and No Face were in Drake's Spotify top 5 for months btw. I remember because twitter was trying to push the "Drake's old music carriers him" narrative and them 2 songs squashed that s*** then and there
the most important part of 100gigs was that in studio footage like its insane niggas so obsessed with the beef that they cant appreciate the biggest artist of our time taking an almost abloh approach to showing his creative process. literally any other artist did this everyone woulda d*** rode them lol, im really sad that its deadass gone and niggas wont ever be able to go back to it after the dust settles
