Your whole point is based on selective outrage. Nobody is diminishing the atrocities currently being exercised by ICE but this should not reflect on another persons art as a result; especially when it’s not related in any capacity AND been promoted since last July.

If a school shooter called Adam kills 20 children and it’s all over the news, should we be outraged if hypothetically Ed Sheeran from the UK was releasing an album pre planned called Adam and Eve?

I feel like your example doesn't fit cause the scale is off, a school shooting isn't gonna impact people enough(in America) to have that impact. I see your point tho. I'm not out here saying I'm going to avoid the album, I'm gonna listen regardless cause I was a huge fan at one point and I'm still waiting on drake to make a genuine comeback.

But again, there will be people who are pro ice that use drakes album title for memes and faux support. This will sound like an extreme example but its really not, Trump could use ai to make an image of himself with the title iceman. He's posted ai images of himself that are less of a stretch than that(threatening military action to take Greenland and posting an image of himself planting a flag there). At the same time some people will be salty Drake is not more self aware of his optics and ignores the struggles of the people(which he already has a trend of doing).

Again I'm not saying this will end drake. I'm not saying this will turn the public against him. But for someone that seems to be making all the wrong PR moves lately (promoting gambling to kids, losing a beef, suing due to the loss and pedophilia label of said beef, associating with racists like Adin Ross, actively practicing misogyny and pettiness with Rihanna), it seems like an easily avoidable risk that could make people look at him a certain type of way.

Also you're not wrong that it's selective outrage in the case of some people, but in 2026 selective outrage can still go viral if its the right thing at the right time. I'm tryna see Drake win, which means eliminating any risks of people distracting from the actual music. People in here are acting like bringing up the ice issue is just cause people wanna see Drake lose when its literally the opposite in my case. Having critiques of Drake doesn't make you a Drake hater
