WDIM was great for a week or two but got old because of how the song is structured.

It's like a weird version of 0-100 (in terms of hype and then mellow beat switch) BUT its not as memorable bar the hook imo

Moving the needle is an objective universal thing everyone is impacted by, flops don’t move the needle, now if you personally liked the songs or not is a different conversation

Ehh I guess I just see it differently. They did what they were intended to do. They created hyped around the iceman episodes which are confirmed to still be happening. It was impactful to the rollout while also performing relatively well. Idk how that’s not moving the needle.

I’m still not even convinced the title of the album is iceman tbh.

The consensus for episode 3 was that it was mediocre, now you can argue it was because of all the “red button” talk, but it definitely didn’t move any needles

Yes. Too much stock was put into what’s the dirt, etc hyping up some insane reveal. We all knew better than to fall for that (I hope).

My point still stands, I believe. Because drake had everyone rating iceman episodes. I don’t really put much stock into what the general consensus was. The fact that it captivated that type of audience was a success in itself

Now that he’s off tour I think there will be much more that’s captivating about the episodes themselves. We are putting too much stock into songs that we don’t even know where they belong yet… we don’t even have a formal album announcement technically.

That’s why I think those songs were a success. It grabbed peoples attention for next episodes. Which is why we are all in this thread looking forward to episode 4.

It’s drake, he gets an audience while playing slots, but playing slots isn’t moving the needle. The reception and the success of something is what moves the needle, not just showing up

If those songs were a success, that means every other song by any other person that matched its success also moved the needle which means there’s not “only one needle mover”
