Thats the problem with how Drake landed after the Kendrick beef. He’s fighting not just creative criticism, but also challenges facing his ability to speak to social or political themes. I want to be clear…I think it’s unfair and a ridiculous criticism… but it’s one of the things that has marred his access in the moment.
it could just be that drake is on the wrong side of the culture war but he was always big enough to avoid it. He’s gonna have to start playing the game of the role rappers are meant to inhabit though or his eviction will only accelerate.
i like hate-watching fd but don't dislike the guy because he reminds me of my dad. i don't think FD needs anticapitalist themes i just think he's older and prefers lyrical rappers. but i don't watch him that much so maybe i'm missing part of the picture.

drakeo was better than Drake at rapping. and btw their song together is a great instance of Drake as a rnb singer. it's an incredible song if you haven't heard it.
