Stupid idea but its coming from the heart so don’t judge me : I think Drake should do like 9 months hiatus. Let the game exhausts itself, as it already does. Sells are going down, tours ain’t going so well. The new generation is underpromising (all the lil babys…) K.dot cannot keep the energy by himself. And after the Super Bowl he is gonna have a spike of popularity, then it’s gonna go down hill.

Drake should wait. Wait until at least June (if he’s got a perfect summer song) but ideally until…September. And comeback with a really hard street uplifting single, something about the struggle ( like a lose yourself or a started from the bottom but that relates to his pain)

And then drop an album, but with a completely new sound. Just him, 40 cooking. The next evolution of the Toronto sound. Between 15 to 17 tracks. Just the best, no fillers. And not being afraid to be polarizing. Just listen to his voice, his anger, his evolution.

I used to offer my long-winded opinions on what Drake should do but I've since realised that whatever he does do, is whatever he's meant to do.

I'm not about to tell the guy who has dominated an entire music space for the better part of 2 decades what is best for him. I'm sure he's spent months figuring out his next moves and he'll do what's best (or at least, what he believes is best) for him.

The thing is in my opinion if he does that everyone’s gonna take it as if he accepted being defeated. He’s better off just dropping like nothing happened and carry the kink in his armor like he once said 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I thought of that too. Even if im a big Drake fan, I understand that reinventing his sound is essential now. And that takes times. So I’m ok with him taking a little time now if that means “re dominating” the game for 5 more years

I'm with you. One thing I gleaned from CLB was that the 20 song tracklists and genre mixing were becoming rote to critics. They felt Drake albums weren't really throwing curve balls anymore. He needs a jolt of originality in his next release.
