this is the musical equivalent of the "sanewashing" that people do with things Trump says. Drake is going through with this lawsuit for 1 obvious reason. But instead of acknowledging it, y'all are telling me "what Drake is TRYING to do is uplift the small artists!".

and even if this does set a new precedent for the music industry going forward and exposes the backdoor deals labels have with streaming platforms, it'll be a drop in the bucket.
There's always gonna be a vast ocean of connections, resources, and money that separate a label backed major name to a small artist with a loyal but unremarkable sized fanbase. If they didn't stack the cards so heavily in their favor, nobody would sign record deals
