how old are you? much harder to do s*** like that as you get older, have had a few friends go through that transition back to school from working and it can be tough

ah yeah, perfect age for it lol, im a year older and already it gets tough to think about career changes or exploring more education etc because you got bills to pay, hobbies to fund, relationships to manage, etc etc

I switched fields in the last 6 months and it was such a breath of fresh air

oh yeah for sure definitely possible, just can be more tough and i find its easier to be like "ohh well its super hard to switch/go back to school, might as well stay where i am"

obviously, you can overcome that but its easy to sink into it and then "settle" if that makes sense?

My advice speaking from experience is to take the bar and worry about the MA later.

It's pretty natural at your stage 1 year out from graduation to start getting cold feet about practicing but you need to push through it, it's going to be a lot easier to find a firm that will take you straight out of law school than waiting a year, doing an MA because it's academically interesting, and then trying to break back into law when you haven't been "thinking like a lawyer" for a year and there's not jobs for history majors. Expect it to be the first question asked at every interview.

I practiced for a year when I graduated, hated it and switched careers, but don't regret it at all, because I got my qualifications and can go back to law whenever I want. It was also nice to actually work and get money after years of study.

Also - it's okay to have something as just an academic interest without getting a formal certification for it! If you're passionate about history, there's nothing stopping you from researching, writing and even submitting/publishing papers in your own time, without going into additional debt.

Feel like any actual project from Drake himself isn’t coming this year tbh. He told Akademiks “we’ve both had great years you should celebrate and relax, go take a vacation”.

IMO, drake’s not gonna do too much this year / the remainder of. Not ruling out the PND collab project but other than that it’s looking shakey as far as any solo project from the boy goes.
