Trust me I'm good with the in depth lol please proceed. And I'm going to go ahead and get this question out the way first: do you wanna take the cpa exams? (I heard some are bar exam level difficult and I believe the ppl who said this so could understand if not).

It’s more like a 3rd party doing R&D tax credit studies for CPAs because they don’t have time to do in depth technical studies like that. So I’ll take a look at a company’s activities determine what’s research and development based on the internal revenue code and then figure out how to tie those activities to direct expenses (wages, supply costs, contractor costs, cloud hosting costs) and then usually 6-10% of those costs yield a usable benefit that can be used to offset tax liability or carried forward for up to 20 years until the client eventually pays tax again (have a lot of clients in NOLs (net operating losses) that can’t use the credit because they aren’t paying tax yet)

I’m studying for my cpa right now; regret my career choice but at least the career is safe

I can say tho I do like working wit numbers plus my cousin got his CPA last year and says it’s hella worth it. I didn’t even know we were both studying accounting until I got out of highschool.

So your leveraging tax credits into net benefits to apply against nol's or atleast conducting the research for the CPA's to do this and apply some sort marginalization of a companies nol's on their book? It sounds like you could get a consulting gig with your experience no?

Yeah in a nutshell that’s what’s happening. Also, you’re not wrong. I could potentially go that route.

I agree with you and I could conjure up a nice roster of clients to start out with. I just gotta make it happen and quit waiting around tbh. If I had to put a number on it, I’ve gone through 12 tax seasons at this point doing 40 studies/clients a season You’re looking at 480 studies completed over the years which is kinda nuts now that I’m actually doing the numbers 😂
