ClementineI think he is he just doesn't want to make “top 40” music anymore. i’m listening to the zane lowe interview and he was all excited talking about a period where he took a load of shrooms and spent 2 days making some of his favourite music ever then zane asked him which ones were on the album and post said “a lot of them didn’t make the album”
Pretty clear he’s not enjoying the commercial aspect of music and having the music label both dictate the music he releases and drag his half dead body through promoting and touring for the next 2 years.
Same thing’s happening with Doja rn. That tonsil surgery was a blessing for her.

The melody on love hate/letter to alcohol is incredible but the lyrics kinda ruined it for me
“You’re the reason I got my ass kicked” in the chorus sounds like something Smash Mouth would do.
Never looked to dude for lyrical gold but there are some shockers on here.

Got a vibe of a more popish Stoney vibe from this project like it a ton after the second listen still. Glad it is only 13 tracks (not counting the last track as a song).

fr, i’d love to hear an album where he has full creative control and can blend all his influences from different genres as much as he wants.
he even said he didn’t have as many guitars on the record because “that’s what everyone was expecting”
