MissionIt is a made up term, but it’s for a specific ethnic group called the Romani people who have some origins in South Asia. They are largely nomadic, and Europeans specifically are extraordinarily nasty about them.
I didn’t know for a long time myself that’s where the term came from but I try to say something when I hear it cuz they get treated like s*** a lot of the time
Yeah I'm usually really knowledgeable on ish like this especially when it comes to USA but I don't know much about the term gypsy outside of it later being co-opted as like a "culture" later on by ppl on like the east coast that were nomadic and did a lot of road entertainment and road merchants type of thing (although I knew "gypsy" word can be seen as offensive if you're not on the in with them kind of thing, didn't know gyp'd came from that tho)
But nah ur good too, I like learning these kinds of things
