That’s unfortunately also why her albums don’t sell tho. As I say on here and it sounds kooky; albums are a visual medium sold through musical storytelling, and in the song sense that means vivid images of the human experience which can only be done in lyrics…that are incredibly personal

To what Dua is talking about, this specific aspect of music can be manipulated by petty people who use the songwriting medium to grab controversial attention. It can then be commodified to the highest degree if attached to well written, highly addictive music

Ellie Goulding’s discography is amazing and so underrated. She’s my fav female singer along with Beyoncé and Madonna.

But her discography is SO LONG and messy because a lot of her albums had various reissues and, in my opinion, a messy page on streaming hurts the perception of some artists. A lot of their great music gets buried.

Anyway, I made a playlist imagining what a compilation album of hers would be like. It’s a mix of her most famous songs with some deep cuts. But this doesn’t even scratch the surface
