You have to admit some of the hate is exaggerated. One person was in this thread talking about it’s a 9 hour game.

That’s mean getting a badge every hours and beating the E4 and champion in an hour.

That mean you most likely: didn’t explore, didn’t catch hardly anything, didn’t talk to anyone, skipped cutscenes, didn’t do anything extra activities like camping and bike racing, didn’t stop to customize, ignored the wild area, didn’t raid, didn’t trade.

Once I beat it I’ll post the list of good and bad from my perspective and try to be as fair as possible.

Both are at an extreme tbh. I said the game is good but then you have people saying it's GOTY.

Definitely not GOTY. Or close even.

Few issues off the top of my head.

Gigamax is a pretty boring gimmick that will probably be forgotten after this Gen. One guy in the game even says it’s specific to Galar so there you go.

Lack of trainer battles. And lack of Pokémon each trainer uses. Old games breeders would always run up on you with a full team.

Exp Share is annoying at times.

Towns/Cities seem smaller with the Gym being the main attraction. (though I’ve only been to a few)

Unable to catch Pokémon you encounter based on level.

For anyone looking to make the game more challenging do these things:

Don’t overlevel

If a Gym Leader or Rival is using 3 Pokémon, restrict yourself to the same limits.

Battle style on Set

No items during battles

Don’t use healers on the road.

Makes it slightly more challenging

You don't even have to do all these just don't over level by sitting there catching every Pokemon on a route. Skip some trainer battles. It'll make the gyms more challenging.

Oh yeah I agree. The game has issues. It's a good game not the best in the series but it's alright. Better than USUM.

I like catching most Pokémon on a route before I leave. If it’s like a 5% encounter rate and I don’t plan on adding it to the team I leave if its taking too long. Only have one badge and I’ve caught like 55 Pokémon.

If you have Let's Go Eevee then you can get an Eevee for free in the game from some dude/girl really early in the game in the train station right before you arrive in the Wild Area for the first time. Just in case you didn't know.
