Nah they're done with SW/SH dlc. It's probably the announcement that SW/SH tournament play is over at the end of the summer.

as far as i’m concerned, PLA is the only Pokémon game on Switch at this point

LGPE was cool & overhated for the catching mechanics, but tbh once you complete the Pokédex (which is really easy to do when there’s only 150 non-mythicals) there’s basically nothing to do, so it died off pretty quickly.

SwSh was really fun, and the DLC was great, but missing the Shiny Articuno event just dropped it to the worst game ever.

BDSP was cool to have on Switch, but it was literally just DP with new graphics + the Grand Underground & Ramanas Park. and they sacrificed Underground Capture The Flag & The Distortion World from Platinum to do those, so that’s a net negative compared to DPPt, especially Pt. Platinum is still the definitive Sinnoh game/storyline to me.

but, if you view BDSP as just a refresher on the Sinnoh storyline before dropping PLA, that perspective makes it less atrocious.

Gen 4 had my favorite games, so to see it get so disrespected with BDSP having no cool new content in the storyline was very upsetting, since that made it the first remake game to just straight up not have new content to make it worth caring about over the originals/third. (FRLG had Sevii Islands, HGSS had.. everything, ORAS had Megas & Delta Episode, and then BDSP was just DP on Switch?? yikes)

but if you view PLA as the “Delta Episode” of the Sinnoh storyline, that just makes the whole package so much better & brings BDSP up to a net neutral.
