i wonder how they’re gonna handle BW2 with the inevitable Unova remakes

it doesn’t feel right to just ignore it cause it’s more than just a 3rd version it’s basically a whole new original experience

and it doesn’t feel right to try and mash it up with the OG

Tbh if we had to pick one I’d rather have BW2 remade

Elite 4/League area design is so lackluster.

Pisses me off so much is that Milotic has always attacked second so I've always had the first hit.

But whenever it uses Recover it's always first 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

And yeah her Garchomp is always f***ing first. Never second. It's a pisstake

    dawg

Sounds like y’all need quick claw

I always put quick claw on my last Pokémon and keep it alive until her last Pokémon but it always goes first

I think quick claw is trumped by something about her garchomp but idk what, could be my bad speed stats or something lol

Just gonna level up and then roll her later I guess not a big deal

I mean every Pokemon game has a pretty meh opening area before the first gym. Before and in Oreburgh you can catch:
    Starly
    Budew
    Psyduck
    Geodude
    Onix
    Machop
    Cherim
    Zubat
    Abra
    Bidoof
    Ponyta

The don't block off the area going toward floroma Town so it's other Pokemon up there in the cave. The game really opens up after Oreburgh.

Current GF isn't going to acknowledge that s***. Just like Platinum in this game only get nuggets here and there.

I been saying this. Frozen and Sleep Pokémon should have 100% accuracy against them.

Some things in this vid are exclusive to Gen 7 but the core mechanics are explained well. I only did a quick search but this should be a good start.

A few things not mentioned in the video

Power Items: 6 items (one for each stat) you can equip to your pokemon that will give you 8 extra EV points for that stat per knockout. They're named after workout accessories and can be obtained in the postgame, usually in whatever Battle Facility is in the region.

Mints: As of Sword and Shield you can change the stat boost that your pokemon would have from their nature. A modest pokemon with boosted Special Attack and reduced Attack can now have the boost of an Adamant pokemon (+Attack/-Special Attack) with a mint. Theres a mint for each nature. Also found in the postgame Battle Facility.

Pokerus: A random "disease" that your Pokemon can contract that will double the evs gained in battle. Once you get it, spread it as much as you can. The boost never wears off but after 24 hours in your party a Pokemon can't spread it anymore. Have a pokemon with it always in the box so you can spread it when and however you want. (Most people just get this through trading online whenever a new game drops)

Exp Share: Any pokemon that recieves exp from a knockout, will recieve EV points. Including the whole party when the exp share is on (which is all the time now i guess.) Power Item EV boosts aren’t shared though. For example You’ll need 6 indiviudal Power Anklets if you want to evenly EV train a team of Speed focused Pokemon at the same time. You can just use one and swap it around but it takes more time. Pokerus boosts cant be shared either.

But to double down on what Default said its definitely better to get used to this hands on and there are probably better guides out there. It's not as intimidating as it seems and will be come second nature to you quickly.

After you're comfortable with the core mechanics, look into teambuilding and different possibilities for Pokemon you want to use.

BDSP probably has one of the better postgames for practicing competitive. Experiment in the Battle Tower, you’ll need to anyway for competitive items. Also there are gym leader and E4 rematches that use competitive sets and stats.

Thank you so much for this
