Are people still mad at GameFreak over that Pokédex thigh? I keep hearing that GameFreak have been getting some hate from some crazy fans over Sword and Shield. The heck?
This is all the info people are pulling from the streams
"-Even without considering Dexit or the fact that the GTS may have been removed, I've noticed the following -
-Cut and paste from Sun and Moon for so many things. Sound effects, opposing trainer models, etc. The "upscaled Sun/Moon graphics" argument is definitely looking accurate.
-Outside of the Wild Area, the routes are the same narrow corridor routes we've seen in Sun/Moon and X/Y. No variation, no choice, just a hallway that you walk down.
-Animations for all older Pokemon look and sound IDENTICAL to previous generations.
-Automatic XP share is insane. The streamer is using nothing but their starter and yet the whole team is almost level 20 after a few hours of play. The streamer's team significantly outlevels every single trainer they face, including named antagonists. The games look about as easy as they ever have.
-We apparently have gating when it comes to catching Pokemon. You need gym badges to catch Pokemon of a certain level. So if a shiny spawns and it's only a few levels higher than your team, but you don't have the required badge, there's nothing you can do to catch it.
The backgrounds for the gym battles are...missing. They're just colorful void spaces. Here's a comparison of gym battle backgrounds between Sword/Shield and Let's Go.
The backgrounds also aren't accurate based on where you are located. This video shows fishing for a Pokemon on the docks, yet the battle background is a COMPLETELY different area from where you are. The battle suddenly takes place in a wide open field. This is incredibly jarring and laughably inexcusable"

It's something like you can't catch a pokemon higher than lvl 25 before the second gym.
It's something like you can't catch a pokemon higher than lvl 25 before the second gym.
So then does it still lock pokemon of an even higher level until after the 3rd gym also and so on?

"The hate" is loser noname twitter accounts writing purposefully hurtful s*** to get a rise out of the community. They exist for any controversy, and it doesnt automatically delegitimize whats being said.
The fact is, for a $60 game to be less feature filled then the the previous version that was half the price? Thats a bad value. Its anti-consumer too because Game Freak is not slick. They want you to pay monthly for pokemon HOME to store pokemon not in SwSh in the hopes next gen that they will be added. Thats why they specifically took out HALF.
Even if you dont transfer Pokémon and dont care to, the stretched out textures, constant hand-holding and railroading, and confirmed lackluster post-game consisting of 2 hours of "story", some gym leader repeats, and a goddamn battle tower shows this game was half-assed because they know theyll make 15 million anyway so f*** the consumer
I love Pokemon, but to see it die like this
and to see people defend the anti-consumer bullshit because "its so hard for a multibillion dollar franchise making more money than mickey mouse to hire a couple more programmers and provide the features and quality expected from a full priced $60 game"
No Mans Sky was crucified for less, and that s*** truly was an indie game.
Am I the only person that don’t really care about the Dex cut
You're in the minority.
I like seeing all the starters.
Imagine a game with All the pokemon. That would be incredible
Am I the only person that don’t really care about the Dex cut
I don’t either. Really don’t care. I’m glad the metagame is going to get a massive shift.
Post game for me will be online battles. For the first time ever I can get a good team relatively easy

in theory i agree that a hard reset on competitive would be a breath of fresh air, but after seeing the pokemon that made it into SwSh, the meta is about to be disgusting as hell lmao.
TPC also couldve both shifted the meta and kept national dex by just restricting VGC teams to galar dex only
Copping Only because I like the new mons and it’s easy to get competitive Pokémon now.

And this might be the first gen since Gen 4 where Stealth Rock doesn’t run the meta. Might.
Excited as f*** for friday

Japan wasn't told about the Dex cut until Friday. They were hyped and pre-ordered the game. They were told a week before release that the game wasn't going to contain every Pokemon so they're going crazy. They started a #Fuckyougamefreak to counter the #Thankyougamefreak. Some Japanese fans have also been saying how they want Ohmori and Masuda dead. GF cancelled they're Japanese release party because of the threats. Japan isn't taking it lightly so now Gen IX would definitely be a different game. Especially if these games don't out sell XY.

Yes

Ehhh this was all Ohmori and Masuda ideas. TPC doesn't have anything to do with the games. James Turner is the lead game designer. This is the guy that worked on Gen V so he made it so most of his designs and Gen V Pokemon made it into the new games. Which was awful because he showed a bias and NO director said that's a bad idea.
