Even if the reason behind the label’s threat is clear, Kendrick’s failure to address it directly leaves a gap between his public persona and the actions taken in his name. This gap creates an opportunity for people to question his authenticity, especially when he’s been hyper-critical of others in similar ways.

And let’s be honest if the shoe were on the other foot and it was Drake who was involved in a similar controversy involving R Kelly, Kendrick would called it out and crafted more narratives. Drake has faced his own controversies, but he’s wayyyyy more transparent and direct when addressing them.
