Plies has a song on his debut album where he turns into Brian Steele and start dropping knowledge about unfair prison sentencing and unjust laws. Really funny cause this nigga turned into a lawyer on the song but he’s always been talking about social issues/introspective stuff in his music

always been smart + college educated

Plies always came off as someone much smarter than how he portrayed himself to be. Especially if you see his interviews versus how he raps you can tell he be turning it on/off (and old forums back in the days used this to discredit him as being "fake")

Valedictorian of his high school class but he came out during a time where "being edumacated" was kinda looked at as wack or "corny" so it wasn't ever highlighted til much later.

It's amazing and kinda sad how well this song aged. Lowkey one of the most poignant songs in rap. RT @YoungNastyShawty

    And what isn't

2020s in a goddamn nutshell man lol.

You know what he means nigga, cmon

It's word play, he's mixing heavily abridged homophones with his local style of speaking

“You may hear something I say and say that it ‘plies to me’”

  • Very rare seeing this coming from a rapper in an era where the mentality was peak homophobia. Kudos to Plies.

lot of people fell into the kayfabe that plies himself constructed and not realizing Plies is actually always been quite educated lol.
