LIR2 seemed like a turning point into a higher trajectory but. EA still sold so he winning still but it was meh
honestly the deluxe hit like a wet napkin imo. Only 3-4 songs with staying power and even of those Lotus would be the only one I'd call first class.
the mixing on that s*** actually effects enjoyment of the songs too. Trap This Way is unlistenable to me because the drums don't hit. Like at all. The song has no bass.
If uzi put his best dozen songs of 2020 into an album it would be pretty good but he's just throwing s*** at the wall and hoping it sticks right now.
This nostalgia bait he is doing atm is a new low

Everyone on Twitter/social media started s***ting on the album. Obviously some people genuinely didn’t like the album but a lot of people just started saying it was trash to fit in without listening to it or going into the album planning to not like it.
So then Carti fans have to push back naturally and make threads defending the album
And this is where we are at right now.
I can’t blame y’all even tho some of y’all are reaching, I do believe a lot of the hate is just sheep mentality

based koalamainstream rap fans mad af that they didn’t get dababy levels of mediocracy. mfs really wanted a die lit or self titled pt 2. and they were blessed with something completely different. i love that this thing is so polarizing because you can easily see who is there for the music and who is there just because carti is cool or trendy. this man is progressing too fast for these lames.
