Its a new generation. Most of the current hip hop fanbase dont want bars. Niggas like Lil Baby, Roddy could really spit if they wanted to but most hip hop listeners dont want that

Carti will just repeat the same bar for 30 seconds and that’s not even the chorus.
This album sounds like what those white hip hop hating people think of when they show the lyrics to a Queen song and point to the dexterity of the lyrics and then show a Kanye song and act like it’s had no thought out into this.
This whole album sounds like a parody album to anyone who isn’t a flat out stan of the guy.
And let’s not act like the mainstream public have turned on guys like Roddy like they are now with Carti.

This album makes me miss the early 2010’s era of rappers. There was some real f***ing talent in that pool, not just these rappers who have potential that never materialises into greatness.
I swear all these mumble rappers have one decent/good project and then they fumble the bag every album after that.
I don’t know what the f*** this s*** is supposed to be, there’s some great production from man on here and some great guest features from people like Kanye and Cudi. But Carti comes on each of these tracks and lets the air out of the tires with the most basic trash bars.
So over this generation. Can’t wait for a return to substance. Because right now these guys are all sizzle and no steak.
