Drop is nuts
that 2015-late 16 soundcloud boom was legendary doubt we'll ever see anything like that for a while, s*** is so saturated rn
soundcloud boom was the streaming revolution, we won’t see it again until a new platform arises because the form has been corporatized

it was a great era that I'm fond of, but there were only a handful of artists that were memorable, a lot blew up that came and went (pump, purrp, xan, etc.) but some became artists that'll live on for generations (x, peep, uzi, carti). the new wave rn is overwhelmingly big but there's much more talent there in my eyes, also they're not just good at rapping/singing, a majority of them self-produce and mix n everything. my main worry is them signing bad deals which'll kill everything for them, but doesn't seem like they care about that (quinn has refused/ignored every label n manager thus far).

near dark is so good everybody itt should watch that, so slept on man
i tried with ken carson but bro is just not good
hopefully carti tries to help him develop as an artist
I genuinely can't see him staying around long, the opium label thing might fade out after red tbh. he only has 2 artists so not too late to jump that ship and go back to the drawing board, carti. he should've waited till he had an undeniable project that'll confirm his stature as an artist (which red is gonna be), because signing ppl like ken and capo won't even be that beneficial to them. what do you get, an oatmeal cookie injected with opium and a vampire initiation that ends with a bloody neck?

Only songs I like from him are geeked up, trip with me and fan behavior
blade and let the right one in/let me in are two pretty good vampire movies

is opium even an established thing
is opium even an established thing
exactly
he's barely promoted it/them at all. signing to an artist who barely cares to promote himself in a coherent manner is not a good move. look at thug who genuinely cares and puts his artists out there (putting kayo on his own spotify page, promoting his music videos heavy, getting him an actual deal on a label, etc.)
for all we know opium isn't even an official imprint for a label and is just something they say like d savage with sake world records.
