3 years if u found him in 2014, but he didn't really start teasing a project till early 2015
iirc he had teased a ep w/ chris fresh and maybe 1 w/ ethereal if im not mistaken (https://twitter.com/sizzle808MAFIA/status/564643729756397569?s=20)
then the infamous wait for the cash carti tape began w/ carti constantly teasing his fanbase w/ snippets like tats on my neck (location), pitstop, boss up, something she never had (black n white), act a foolie, and money
it was a little over a 2 year wait
now w/ WLR, we've been waiting for 2 years and a month, about the same as S/T. And with no sign of this dropping anytime given there being a global virus allowing no tour and it being pretty insensitive to drop an entire album rn, it looks like it'll be more than just a couple more months ;/
and whats even worse is that compared to the rollout of S/T, where he had dropped lookin' and WULT in march, then the tape a month later, its been 2 since @ meh ;/
to be fair there were a series of leaks that were album quality in june and august of last year, but those never seemed to stop carti from dropping before
