So if the disinterest is based on their gender identity how is it not rooted in some form of discrimination lol
i dont see it as discrimination because its romantic interest. people always have certain preferences and unless there is hatred or ignorance that guides these interests, then i dont see it as discriminatory. i guess an example would be that a black man exclusively dating black women wouldn't be discriminatory towards other races unless he has hatred or ignorance towards other races. the way i see it rn, unless the disinterest came explicitly because the guy hated or was ignorant towards trans women, then i wouldn't see it as discriminatory but idk i still want to hear ur thoughts
Niggas be tryna explain though lmao. I've legit seen trans people on here explain their POV and get dismissed. After a while niggas gonna get tired of tryna explain to mfs and just call people d***heads
That’s the only downside is you have to mix in the people actually wanting to learn with the trolls. Ofc it’s not they’re job to educate people anyways
You really think most people in that age bracket honestly knew what those terms meant?
Of course not, but there's a lot of kids that didn't know what lesbian or gay meant but knew they had feelings for the same s***at a very young age.
Like, kids in general have a better understanding (in some cases) of complex s*** than adults do if we keeping it a buck. The same way it's quicker to learn a new language when you're younger, you can definitely learn alternative ways of life. Asking my mom about someone having "2 moms" at my old school when I was little and after she explained I was just like
and kept it pushing.
If I was older and first found that out I would probably have had a lot more questions and things to ask.
But c'mon bro, we were watching supervillains in DRAG in the late 90s thanks to the Powerpuff Girls

Earth. Atlanta.
You being shocked that someone grew up different than you is hilarious.
Meanwhile you claiming I'm not coming from an honest place I just spent the last 10 pages breaking down transphobia to someone that was legit asking and attempting to do the same to someone to the best of my ability. I'm not a living academia book.

Not even gonna cap, "niggas be like think of the kids" and the kids these days don't even be caring
Not even gonna cap, "niggas be like think of the kids" and the kids these days don't even be caring
Kids never cared like that if they didn't grow up in a highly judgemental environment to begin with.
And that's the biggest issue.

@insertcoolnamehere
I mean there’s gonna be times where asking for stats seems out of place and this seems like one of them. If I’m giving benefit of the doubt @02Shaq is saying that a lot of people in that age bracket didn’t grow up understanding those terms, especially since it seems like culturally at large they’ve become ubiquitous in the past few years.
I agree he made a generalizing statement but is that so wrong in this instance? I think he’s rhetorically saying “come on, you can understand these things weren’t common knowledge for adolescent boys born during that time”. I’m not sure what paper u want him to cite and what methodology U would approve of in said research, but Id also generally agree on face that the average kid wasn’t familiar with the idea of gender fluidity if they were born during that time. Would you mind sharing some evidence of the contrary? If u don’t feel the onus is on u that’s cool.
I can also understand that it becomes hard to give people the benefit of the doubt given the behavior in this thread especially in the face of provided evidence.
Before y’all get on how long this is, I’m sure some of you have cumulatively typed much more.

Except the situation we're talking about was not no romantic s*** it was just a nigga meeting a woman he finds attractive, who had a vagina, who he's vibing with and everything and him being disinterested once he learns her gender identity.
And why is that? What is guiding that? Deep down it's rooted in most mfs thinking that trans women arent women, cuz if he saw her as one that s*** wouldnt be a factor

Throwing dismissive motives on a dude just trying to educate in a polite, cordial manner about this basic ass concept . Salute @insertcoolnamehere your patience is prob wasted on this place

I’m glad you brought that up. Cause that nigga still doesn’t understand it. Yet you’re on here on your perch judging acting like it’s so easy to understand just because you understand it

nah he’s not a troll
I think the barrier ITT is people think "understanding" gay/trans people or "fighting bigotry" is about defining things and reasoning things out etc.
You meet a gay or trans person and realize they're just people. It's that simple. You never have to ask or answer the weird questions ITT lol.

and I'm saying is IRL and OL a lot of people use "this is still new to a lot of people" in bad faith to just shove away the legitimate issues that trans women are actively going through right now.
And (I know conscious niggas hate this) it just has this eerie similar feeling to white people in the ollllld days that claim "this race stuff is still new to a lot of people" that were saying it in bad faith in order to just shove away the legitimate issues that black people were and are going through.
And nah, I don't think the onus aint on me respectfully.
So excited for this new album
