that’s an odd combination - surfer rosa and trompe are such polar opposites!

ig more rym heads or punk rock ppl relate to surfer more, it’s not my style, i love trompe bc it’s more melodic but also it prod and synths is SO mid 90s rock it captures so much like how mtv of back then feels much more than something like the blue album ironically, when that weirdness was hype

i love bossanova bc im sucker for surf as u know

that’s so funny usually u mass is the most loved off of trompe by the haters, even bowie name dropped it of all trompe songs haha

im just sad there’s this history trompe was the fall off, ugh

i never thought of songs such as kim or not songs, did she actually write full songs for pixies? i thought it was all frank

Surfer Rosa is like a more punky Doolittle in some respects but I dunno, it was just the first one I heard and still my favorite to listen to from front to back. I wanted to hear it because of “Where Is My Mind?” but “Bone Machine” and “Break My Body” ended up selling me on them.

Are you asking if I like Frank Black’s solo stuff or the Breeders more? Definitely the Breeders (although their most recent album might be my least favorite). I’m really only familiar with the self-titled Frank Black and Teenager of the Year. I hear Cult of Ray is good, too?

I guess Trompe le Monde is poppy but it’s kind of all over the place; it’s got the most ballad-y ballads but it’s also got the heaviest stuff of their career.

that’s funny that does sound similar to surfer rosa put it this way, surfer has great stuff like broken face but also where is my mind, and trompe has the amazing title song but also bird dream
