not even a Brit, but i think it's so stupid that the 2 most culturally significant Britpop albums didn't even make the list (Morning Glory and Parklife)
Yeah these definitely shoulda been on the list if an album like Dookie is on the list, no shade at Dookie
Yea and they got that elastica album where they ripped off wire and have to pay them all the royalties
Connection goes harder than Three Girl Rhumba if we're being real
ill throw my hat in for the top 5
MTV Unplugged/In Utero (can't pick between the both of them tbh)
Aquemini
OK Computer
Illmatic
Velvet Rope
Low End Theory could be in here too

i love both songs, but yeah
they put Built to Spill's Keep It like a Secret over Perfect From Now On booo
nope.
what a damn shame. idk if it'd make my top 100, but it deserves a spot in the top 150 at the very least
the fact that Doggystyle didn't even make it on the list is such a total slap in the face. easily in the top 25 for a list like this
soft bulletin probably took the biggest L
went from #3 in 2003 to #99 today
Actually feel it took on more resonance during the worst moments of the pandemic. Race for the Prize, Waiting on a Superman, Suddenly Everything Has Changed, Feeling Yourself Disintegrate, the topics were uncanny to listen to and the humanity of the songwriting really came through. I've come to appreciate that album so much more.
But it's white dude indie rock so who cares
they put Built to Spill's Keep It like a Secret over Perfect From Now On booo
I agree with them but it shouldn't be an either or choice, Perfect From Now On s***s on most of these albums
Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, etc.
Why are we still posting them here?
it's just a good time to discuss albums that made the list and and those that didn't. nobody is taking it that serious itt
I've never met a single person who thought Blue Lines was actually a better album than Mezzanine
Unfinished Sympathy is on it but come on

Will oldham went from #9 to not being on the new list

i used to think this tbh but not anymore lmao

both are great but i think its the right call. its waaayyy too f***in low in the list though
Will oldham went from #9 to not being on the new list
I noticed that too
In a weird way tho being mentioned and ranked way lower is a more noticeable slight (and coming from #3 too)
Whereas not being mentioned at all only old heads will even notice its absence
honestly have never been the biggest fan of Built to Spill
somebody put me on
I assumed everyone agreed with me that TNWWL was clearly their most canonical album tbh
