    f*** does this even mean

Hip-hop isn’t just rapping, its a kind of energy (hence the 5 core elements). Gunner Stahl photos have hip hop energy. Virgil Abloh’s designs have hip hop energy. Even other musicians can have hip hop energy, like Dean Blunt or Thundercat.

Id go as far as to say that Yves Tumor even has a lil hip hop energy in his music (check noid if u disagree).

Basically, it’s a special sort of edge, where the art in question takes pride in being out of place, among other things. This album doesn’t really have it.

Now this can still be a 10/10, but I’m probably not going to listen to it again.

    Side note

This decade is gonna be annoyin as people will continue to downplay mbdtf even more than they have the past couple years to be different and seem higher iq

you just mentioned a bunch of artists that associate with hip-hop artists all the time. of course you're gonna look at virgil abloh and dean blunt as more "hip-hop" than fiona apple

also i feel like yall never heard a fiona apple song if you think thundercat is more edgy and out of place

He is for the hip hop audience. Him and flying lotus occupies that space for hip hop.

i thought p4k was irrelevant to yall

all i see in here is dudes worked up and saying p4k is racist and that this album is trash

sounds like p4k still have that control they did in 2010-12 lmao

well, no, thundercat isn't more edgy or out of place, but he still carries more hip hop energy, at least in my opinion.

Look, there's nothing wrong w this album, maybe when I'm feeling more into rock or something I'll appreciate it more

    Pray For Paris OUT NOW

Wow some of these comments are really exposing y'all. Just say you don't listen to any other genres besides modern hip hop and move on. Fiona is a certified GOAT in music and the album is incredible. So many of you guys don't even know that she's one of Kanye's biggest musical inspirations.

This quote from the Kanye-Fiona interview lmao:

FA: It’s the same thing, but there’s a new song on there. I don’t want to talk about me.

KW: Well, I want to know. You don’t understand. I hold you higher than Lauryn Hill in my eyes.

    FA: Oh, s***.
