lemonade better
imo she long dropped her trilogy of best projects with 4, self titled and lemonade, anything from here on out is just icing on an already ridiculous discog
whatever it’s supposed to be, it’s wack
now you know how people feel about your gimmick of running into every thread with a contrarian opinion in hopes of getting your avi posted
Beyoncé career arc is so crazy.
I remember living overseas and having to convince non-Americans she was a Black woman. mfers were seriously confused. thought I was lying or trolling.
now she’s… ‘celebrating the long legacy of Black musicians and artists, of which she is a part and BEACON’ and she managed to create that narrative while becoming a billionaire. lol very impressive.

Yeah, her late career run has been
The way you phrased it makes it sound like she got an agenda or something lmao
the grammys hypocrisy on here is much worse imo
idk i’d say they’re about the same.
the grammys hypocrisy on here is much worse imo
Nah I think the Pitchfork hypocrisy on here is way worse because Pitchfork literally means absolutely nothing.
At least the Grammys are somewhat respected by musicians as a major accomplishment and winning one for an artist raises their status (“five-time Grammy winner artist name”)
A Pitchfork score means absolutely nothing so to see some people on here only value it when an artist they like receives a favorable score is hilarious
pitchfork giving this album a 9.0 doesn’t mean s*** i mean u aren’t gonna remember this in 3 days time. tbh what you want to worry about is when people start talking about her morals etc like that lie being spread about metoo checks for instance
Give it some time they gonna start saying that whispery ass Rayvn Lenae album is better even though it's likely not gonna be that high up on many year end lists. If any.
Damn Ravyn just catching a stray

It’s been 25 years
We will remember lol

Her album was great though. Not better than Renaissance, but great in its own right. I don’t think she should be dragged into this thread.
The longevity she’s had plus her run of solo albums post Sasha Fierce this far into her career being regarded as her best work is not normal. Niglets working overtime to discredit instead of respecting a great while we have her.

I dunno why. She’s talented. Her album was one of the best debut albums released in recent years too. I won’t let her go down in this thread. Lol.

In the 2018 book Fabulous: The Rise of the Beautiful Eccentric, professor and musician Madison Moore captures the innovation of certain queer aesthetics: “The fact that beautiful eccentrics put themselves on the line every day despite the odds shows how important they are not only as aesthetic geniuses but political activists too.” Beyoncé, of course, has a gigantic bank account and a team of people to help her look extravagant—“It should cost a billion to look that good/But she make it look easy ’cause she got it,” as she vamps on “Pure/Honey”—and to make the kind of fantasy she’s crafted on Renaissance plausible, from the Swarovski-encrusted imagery to the refinement of the album’s song choices. But using her global proscenium to showcase the work of marginalized people, as the political and legal scapegoating of their existences ramps up to a terrifying degree—including draconian legislation in her home state of Texas—is important, even a rejoinder to 2014’s big FEMINIST sign moment, a subtle kiss-off to people who’ve made vilifying trans women a cornerstone of their feminism by making space for all sorts of femme expression.
