Go be great Isaiah.
weird to trade CJGJ away for nothing
And make no mistakes about it, Kenyon Green is ASS lmaooo if Stout can turn him into a league average guard that would be more of a crowning achievement than turning someone who's never played football in an All Pro

He's only 23, so I hope they can do something to make him at least serviceable

I will say, if there's anyone in this organization - even more so than Howie - that has earned blind faith it is Stoutland. They don't make any OL move without him signing off so I'll trust him
Sydney Brown (unless if we draft somebody), it is your time young man
Ehhhh idk about this one, but we'll see I suppose
I was looking forward to another year of CJ. I remember the difference from ridding ourselves of him the first time. Him plus Slay gone is definitely troubling.

(Pulls hammy 12 plays into week 1)
sooo we traded CJ because the defense has too many young guys that will eventually need contracts and so we are ridding all of the old guys?

That's the story the team is pushing through the media, also how it was explained to CJ based on his thoughts in the videos above. I get it, guys like JC, Q, and Coop won't come cheap and Nolan factors into that too. At the same time, it came out last night that we were in on Justin Reid at safety so it might've been 80% financial, 20% other lol

4 years, 4 teams moved on from CJGJ. It’s not a coincidence.

i believe it
i think there was a lesson learned after 2017 and the SB loss that it’s not wise to extend and give EVERYONE thank you contracts. sacrifices have to be made along the way where management sees fit

This, plus the fact that this team is very much being built for a long term run, not just a short couple years, ie San Fran.
Our m.o. is building through the draft, and Howie is doing that exact thing, stocking up on draft picks for the foreseeable future

According to Spotrac we have the second youngest roster in the NFL, and that hasn't factored in Slay and Bradberry leaving because they're still "technically" on the roster for a few more minutes.
Now that we're paying the QB, this team will be built without a middle class. What do I mean by that? If you are a star, you will be paid. If you are a rookie, you will be given every chance to start or at the very least contribute. At the end of your rookie deal, if you are a star, you will get paid. If you were just a very solid starter, thank you for your services, another young draft pick will replace you
It's sound logic, just have to continue hitting on the picks. Becomes easier now that we're looking for complimentary pieces rather than building blocks, those are already in place.
Any veteran pieces that we sign as well, depth to push the young guys and if they're not ready to play, the vets become bandaids until the young guys are ready. No long term commitments to them outside of a Zack Baun situation, but it again speaks to the idea of "no middle class".
I wonder if gainwell will do good in Pittsburgh.
They’re not a good team so probably not
